As you can see, I'm no poster child for Bay Watch! Especially with that farmer's tan!
But the picture on the left is me in 2005 and the picture on the right is me in 2011.
I think you'll agree that I'm a lot more healthy at 43 now than I was at 37 then.
Now all this progress wasn't simply due to Health Quest! I changed my eating habits radically
but slowly over the course of those 6 years; slowly coming to realize the necessity of primal eating.
(See
Mark's Daily Apple.) If you want one simple piece of advice to get you started: cut out all
refined sugar, period. You won't believe how hard it is, then how good you feel.
I also changed my exercise habits to follow what they do over at
CrossFit; albeit modified
for a 43 year old body that isn't part of the special forces! Doing functional exercises in endless
combinations to target every aspect of fitness from gymnastics to olympic lifting to running was definitely
the ticket to improved fitness and boredom avoidance.
Once I had my game plan for diet and exercise, Health Quest helped to keep me on track. I won't lie,
I failed the quest 4 times before I made it through. Lifestyle change is one of the hardest things you can do.
But I eventually got there. So can you.
